Killzone was one of PlayStation’s most ambitious first-person shooters. Developed by Guerrilla Games (also a Dutchie), the series brought intense sci-fi battles and a dark, intense storyline. However, since the release of Killzone Shadow Fall in 2013, the franchise has not seen a return in the spotlights with a new game.
A return to Killzone on PS5 could offer a cinematic campaign and deep multiplayer modes. For example, using ray tracing, fast load times, and 3D audio, the war-torn planet Helghan could feel more immersive than ever.
Furthermore, PlayStation is currently lacking an exclusive shooter. A reboot could easily fill that space and appeal to longtime fans and newcomers alike.
2. Jak and Daxter
Next, let’s talk about Jak and Daxter. This colorful duo, created by Naughty Dog, brought action-platforming to a new level during the PS2 era. Sadly, despite massive popularity we haven’t seen a new entry in years.

While Uncharted 4 gave Nathan Drake a proper farewell, the Uncharted universe still holds so many possibilities. Whether it’s a sequel following his daughter Cassie or a new character entirely, the spirit of exploration and discovery could easily continue.
A new Uncharted game could push cinematic storytelling even further. Set-piece moments, ancient mysteries, and globe-trotting adventure could feel more realistic than ever with PS5 technology.
Additionally, PlayStation fans consistently rank Uncharted among their all-time favorites. So, a comeback would not only make sense—it would likely become an instant hit.
4. Sly Cooper
Another classic series that deserves to sneak back onto shelves is Sly Cooper. This stealth-platformer from Sucker Punch blended stylish visuals with clever gameplay. Yet, the last main entry, Thieves in Time, launched over ten years ago(!).
If Sly were to return on PS5, it could embrace vibrant cel-shaded graphics, smooth stealth mechanics, and even cooperative missions. It’s the kind of family-friendly action game that PlayStation currently lacks.
What’s more, games like Hi-Fi Rush have shown there’s still room for artistic, animated experiences that stand out from hyper-realistic titles.

Last but not least, we have Resistance. Developed by Insomniac Games, this gritty alternate-history shooter delivered intense action and memorable weapons. Although the franchise ended with Resistance 3, fans have been asking for its return ever since.
Bringing Resistance back could offer a darker contrast to the bright worlds of Spider-Man or Ratchet. A new game could dive deeper into its world-building, enhance horror elements, and introduce modern FPS mechanics.
Not only that, but with the rise of story-driven shooters, a single-player Resistance revival could hit the perfect balance of nostalgia and innovation.
